An Invitation From The President:

At FSU, our commitment to diversity extends well beyond the composition of our student body and work force. As one of the largest employers in the region, we are committed to investing in the communities in which we not only work and live but also educate, research, and deliver a myriad of services. For us, this means having a supplier base that reflects the wide diversity of our students, faculty, staff and community.

We hired an outside consultant to complete a Comprehensive Small Business Participation Program Study, to assist us in our outreach efforts to engage small, minority, and women-owned businesses. From this study we have developed a Supplier Diversity Plan approved by our Board of Trustees. It is our belief that increasing our business participation with these underutilized groups not only makes good business sense, but, moreover, is the right thing to do.

Our Supplier Diversity initiative will focus on suppliers who are Florida-based minority or women-owned businesses, certified by the State of Florida's Office of Supplier Diversity, or certified by a Florida city, county, school district or other governmental entity. It will also include small Florida businesses that are not minority or women-owned.
